Meeting times changed to 7:30PM for 2020
In the December 2019 Meeting, we decided to move the start times of our monthly meetings to 7:30 PM.
Sincere Appreciation for Our Service at the Merton House
All the way from Kildorrery, County Cork, Ireland, John Pigott joined the members of the JFK Division of the AOH to help serve a bountiful breakfast at the Merton House. Brother Joseph O’Keefe of Cape Cod also joined in the merriment and helped provide a hearty morning meal to those in need. Joseph specialized in overseeing the sugar supply while John Pigott’s pancakes were “selling like hot cakes”. The whole production was capably overseen by our own Steve Baunach, who had the following to say:
Brothers,
Thanks for coming out to represent another AOH sponsored breakfast event this morning. By all accounts, we preformed a fine act of charity to epitomize the mission of the AOH. It is always special to see spousal involvement, extended family, and first time volunteers step up.
Thanks again to the following brothers and family members who made this event successful:
Tom Keane
Sean Keane
Bob Fox
Scott Flynn
Bernie and Barbara Lee
Pat Callahan
Kevin Daley
Brian Conatser
Pat O”Keefe, (his brother Joe ) and cousin John Pickett visiting from Ireland
Martin Casey
Next breakfast tentative date Fri, March 27
Sincerely,
Steve Baunach
Big Scores for Food and Fun at Our Harvard/Yale Tailgate
The AOH was well represented by those from near and far at the 2019 Annual AOH Tailgate at the Yale Bowl. Noreen, John and Maeve Pigott from Kildorrery, County Cork, Ireland joined Colin and Nikki Ryan from Orlando, Florida and Dan and Mike Ryan, a member of the John J. McIhinney AOH Division from Doylestown, Pennsylvania along with a throng of JFK Division AOH Officers, Brothers and families for a President Mark Ryan “Tailgate Extravaganza”.
Grills were operational only minutes after the caravan of fifteen cars arrived in Lot D. A full breakfast, of Irish bacon, eggs, sausage, puddings and fresh rolls was served to bolster our stalwart band. The cooks were busy all day preparing deep fried turkey, pulled pork, fresh clams, chicken wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, meatballs, sausage and peppers and much, much, more.
“The Game” as it is known between Harvard and Yale was a noteworthy event going into double overtime and nearly being called for darkness. The Yale Bowl does not have field lighting! The halftime proceedings were interrupted by a student led protest against global warming. John Pigott of Kildorrery, Cork Ireland upon hearing of the protest picked up the Irish flag and ran straight into the melee. When asked about his position on global warming, he stated, “I’m all for it. We could use a bit more heat in Cork. We’re perished from the cold!”
Second Annual AOH Cornhole Tournament a Success
Corn Hole Champs
Give Back Their Winnings
A wonderful time was had by all at our 2nd Annual Corn Hole Tournament on September 28th at InSports in Trumbull! Ending the day of family, friends and friendly competition, our champs, elected to donate their winnings back to our cause, to be used for charity, demonstrating the true spirit of our Order. Thanks to all who participated and a very special thanks to those who planned and ran the event.

9th Annual AOH State Softball Tournament 8/24
Brothers,
On Saturday August 24th we had our 9th Annual AOH State Softball Tournament at Foote Field in Milford.
Through everyone’s generous donations we raised $2000 for The Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp and we were very pleased to present the check to Kathlene Gerrity, the Executive Director of The Arthur C. Luff Children’s Burn Camp.
Unfortunately we relinquished our trophy to the Danbury team, but good times were had at the game as well as the pub crawl.

Cold Day With Warm Feel – Nov 23 Merton House
Thank you for teaming up to prepare and serve breakfast for the needy yesterday morning. It was another fine demonstration of what we do for Christian Charity. Management estimated that we served at least 120 patrons. In addition, Tom Keane collected and donated a box of mugs to add to their inventory.
